The company was founded in 1958 in accordance with Decree №723-345 of the CPSU Central Committee and USSR Cabinet dated 02.07.1958 as R&D center and production plant for designing and fabrication of gyroscopic devices in Ural region. Within 1958 - 1962 the company was subsidiary of research institute №2 NII-944 (research institute of applied mechanics named after academician V.I.Kuznetsov in Moscow ) under the State Committee of USSR Cabinet on shipbuilding comprising electromechanical research institute with pilot factory. Within 1962 - 1965 the company was under State Committee of USSR Cabinet on radio electronics, and since 1965, under Ministry of General Machine Building of USSR. In 1977 the company was reorganized into the scientific production association of electro-mechanics. In 2005 it was once again converted into open joint stock company.
In 1975 the company was awarded with the Order of Labour Red Banner for special contribution into development and fabrication of gyroscopic devices for missile complexes.
Basic areas of activities:
development and fabrication of gyroscopic devices for control systems of various missiles and multi-purpose space equipment.
Main products: gyroscopic attitude controllers and rate gyro package for launch vehicle «Souz-2», anti-ship missiles «Yakhont», «BrahMos», gyroscopic devices for missile complex «Iskander».
