The news published by the Russian News & Information Agency RIA Novosti on 20 December 10 under the title “The Second Prototype of T-50 will fly at the beginning of 2011” must be clarified:
Air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles may be accommodated on the internal carriage. Air-to-air missiles will include short-range and long-range weapons, and up to 4 medium-range weapons developed by Vympel Design Bureau. Air-to-ground weapons carried inside the aircraft will include anti-ship missiles, general purpose modular missiles and smart bombs (of 250 kg caliber). Moreover, the aircraft will have various types of guided missiles and air bombs (up to 1500 kg) on the external carriage.
All guided air-launched means of destruction, which may be deployed on the aircraft, are developed by M/s Tactical Missiles Corporation JSC.
